Section for Clinical Research IT
‘The Section for Clinical Research IT’ (SKFIT) has been a joint section of the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein and the University of Lübeck at the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics (UzL) since 2024. A hospital-integrated clinical research IT infrastructure will be provided in compliance with applicable data protection and data security guidelines. To this end, it cooperates with other institutions of the University or the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein, e.g. with UKSH IT Service Gesellschaft mbH (UKSH ITSG) and the IT Service Centre (ITSC).
The SKFIT does not operate its own computer or network infrastructure, but utilises the services of the two above-mentioned institutions depending on the nature of the research applications. The UKSH ITSG and the ITSC are responsible for hosting the software systems.
